Unwanted Subject from Auckland, New Zealand charges the gate with brutal efficiency with their new single, “Sons Of Savages.” A violent cacophony of blitzing guitars, hard-hitting drums, and harsh vocals come together to create a blend of metal that anyone can enjoy. “Sons Of Savages” gets you in a groove that transports you in time, you really feel like you are at the gate fighting your enemies as the savage you are. This five-piece knows what they are doing.

It’s not Unwanted Subject’s first rodeo, previously releasing another EP with songs such as “In My Eyes,” “A Broken Man,” and a plethora of others but their most recent release “Sons Of Savages” is a huge step up in terms of quality musicianship and lyrical material. It’s speedy, it’s got grit, and it knows what it is. A fun musical trip from beginning to end. They switch it up with the chorus with a very full-sounding singing part that is a nice change of pace from the adrenaline rush of the rest of the song.

“Sons Of Savages” has parts any sort of metalhead can enjoy, it has groovy chug parts, choral parts with very real feeling, and excellent guitar work that carries the whole song. The musicianship on guitar is of particular note. It runs wild and takes the rest of “Sons Of Savages” with it. Unwanted Subject really shines through with their guitar work.

In conclusion, “Sons Of Savages” is a really fun piece by the New Zealand homies in Unwanted Subject. I can’t wait to see what else comes from them.
