Days of the Phoenix Presents “Caosmosis”

Montevideo, Uruguay – Days of the Phoenix returns with an innovative and bold proposal: “Caosmosis.” This new work explores new musical horizons and delves into a captivating narrative. “Caosmosis” invites you on a journey through various scenarios. It explores the multiple facets of reality and individual thought, progressively addressing themes and moods.

Conceptual Depth and Sonic Innovation

The concept of “Caosmosis” is based on the coexistence of chaos and order. This interaction generates new forms and structures. Inspired by Guattari’s ideas (1992), it shows us a world where creativity and innovation emerge from apparent disorganization. This process of transformation and evolution is continuous.

Initially, the album was going to focus on the duality of destruction and reconstruction. However, during the creative process, the vision expanded. Instead of a strict division, “Caosmosis” transitions from fury to empathy and from disorder to harmony. This approach highlights the interconnection between these elements. It is reflected both in the album’s development and in each song.

Musical Journey Through Chaos and Order

The album begins with visceral energy, marked by dissonances and aggressive rhythms. It then evolves into more reflective and melodic atmospheres, without losing the band’s characteristic intensity. Each track on the album presents a mix of chaos and harmony. Powerful riffs and aggressive breakdowns combine with melodic passages and mid-tempos. The lyrics move from a war cry to the search for awakening consciousness and universal harmony. Writing in Spanish was a challenge, but they successfully maintained fluid phonetics and a clear message in each song.

Insights from the Band

Yamil comments: “The band has waited a long time for this moment. The album reflects a stage of transition, both for the band and for each of us. It has witnessed our life cycles. The desire to share something profound has kept us together. The songs evolved with us, changing and growing, without giving up, just like in life. Today, the album comes to light with the expectation of shaking the Uruguayan music scene with a unique approach.”

Ignacio (Nacho) adds: “Being part of the creation of ‘Caosmosis’ has been a process of collective and personal learning. Each contributed idea reflects moments of change and evolution. This album symbolizes a stage of constant growth.”

Martín also shares: “The process has been very enriching, both as musicians and as colleagues. Every detail took shape over time. Seeing that idea materialize in the finished album is an immense feeling of fulfillment. Although we didn’t know how to capture the concept at first, the final result is just as we imagined.”

Acknowledgments and Production Details

The band thanks those who contributed to the album: Fabián Machado (former guitarist of the band and current member of Horror on Black Hills), whose mark is present on the record. Chris Davis of The Ghost Inside, whose experience was fundamental in defining the band’s sound. The mixing by Nico Ghiglione exceeded all expectations. The advice of Chris Wiseman of Currents and Shadow of Intent was important for the album’s development.

“Caosmosis” was recorded at Sala Jackson in Montevideo, Uruguay. It was mixed and mastered at PGM Studios in Buenos Aires, Argentina, under the direction of Nicolás Ghiglione. It promises to revolutionize the metal scene. The production of “Caosmosis” has been a journey in itself, capturing the raw energy and passion that Days of the Phoenix carries in their DNA.
